As we projected in the Big 10 Rankings last week, Oklahoma gets into the Big 12 Championship game based on the BCS poll....despite having the same record as Texas and after losing to Texas head to head.

IF Florida HAS to win the SEC...here is the scenario that has little chance of happening that we would all like to see:

The Gators Get Left Out of BCS Championship / Miracle BCS Scenario

1. Oklahoma will beat Missouri and will take the #1 spot in the BCS, giving them the invite to the National Championship Game.

2. Florida beats Bama in a close one on a controversial Penn Wagers special.

3. The coaches poll moves everyone up after the Bama loss. Oklahoma to 1, Texas to 2, Florida to 3 because they feel bad for Texas and due to the aforementioned Penn Wagers special perpetrated on Bama.

4. Florida, who is currently 6th in the computer polls, jumps only Utah, Bama and Texas Tech because of the strength of schedule hit due to LSU, Georgia and South Carolina all losing.

5. Harris Poll can stay the same.... Oklahoma 1,
Florida 2, and Texas 3 with the Bama loss.

6. Florida is left out and we have a rematch of Texas vs Oklahoma in the National Championship Game.

The BCS is once again shown to be terrible, and Florida gets left out, partially because we took one for the team and lost to the nerds. This is all I want for Christmas.

Yahoo! Sports agrees that this could happen here:

"
There is at least three positions difference between the Horns and Gators in every computer poll except Richard Billingsley's. So how much is beating Alabama -- which, again, comes into the game ranked behind Texas and Oklahoma in the computer average -- worth? ... But will it be worth enough in the computer polls (I'm thinking at least two positions per computer) to close that very wide gap with Texas? That's a shaky guess."

And even the BCSGuru says it is possible....

The only problem with that scenario, (not that pollsters couldn't reverse course from the norm.. they've done it before) is the very thing that hurt Georgia last year... you have to win your conference championship to go to the national championship. Even if Texas were #2 going into this weekend, the pollsters would/will drop Texas for no other reason than they don't want two teams from the same conference playing each other in a national title game.
